For the last few months, my website has been a dismal 'Under Construction' page with just a link to this, my personal blog. How awkward for a person who designs websites to not have a real website of their own, right?! Well, I found some inspiration yesterday and got after it.
The simple, handscrawled logo, warm visuals, and clean/minimal design are exactly what I'm all about. I'm excited to finally be sharing the details of my Website Design Services, and look forward to blending more of who I am into what I do as I grow the site. I'm confident that this is going to be the best incarnation of my business and branding yet!
In January, I posted my goals for 2014, and re-launching my website is a direct product of my goal to 'share my knowledge through digital products and courses'. I didn't start designing websites through the traditional avenues of graphic design and coding, so I sometimes felt like a fraud calling myself a website designer. Marketer, creative entrepreneur, teacher, sure. But, designer? Well…as Steve Jobs said:
"Design is not just what it looks and feels like. Design is how it works."
And, in that case, I have no doubt that I am a designer. I am consumed by figuring out how things work (or could work), and it's not uncommon for me to spend 8 hours in front of a computer until I do. My Website Design Services are how I'm sharing my knowledge about good design - how a site looks, feels, and works.
If you've ever wondered what all is involved in launching a website, I hope you'll check out this page. You might be surprised at how easy it is to understand when I break it down into 3 main steps.
Up next: adding more stuff about me, my portfolio, and my process! Stay tuned. And I would LOVE to hear from you: what are your questions about web design/website ownership?
Hello, there! My name is Nikki Jones and this is a place for me to write about my travels, my urban homesteading adventures, and whatever else my little heart desires at a given moment. Like many personal-blog bloggers, there are times I write daily and long streteches I'm not inspired to write at all. And that's ok! At any rate, I'm glad you're here.
