Just an hour away in Lone Tree, Iowa, is a sweet little music fest called Camp Euforia. We've been trying to make it there for the last few years, and finally, we did!
Matt was part of the Production Staff, helping bands load in and out. But we had plenty of time to enjoy the shows together. It's so small that nothing (and no one) is ever very far away. Case-in-point, this view of the bar and Main Stage from our camp site:
Of course, all of the music was amazing! With 2 stages to alternate between, the music was damn near continuous. Above, Euforquestra featuring Abbie Sawyer on the main stage. Below, Head for the Hills in the barn.
Alas, it was a stormy weekend. It poured overnight Friday. And poured again Saturday afternoon.
Not to be hampered, we held a beer tasting during the rain delay Saturday. Matt cleverly brought along his bomber of Collective Distortion IPA, a Stone Brewing collaboration between Keri Kelli (of Alice Cooper) and Kyle Hollingsworth (of The String Cheese Incident). The latter happened to be playing the fest with the Kyle Hollingsworth band and happened to attend our beer tasting. He did us the honor of sharing and signing our bottle. Check that grumpy cat tee out!
Although physically exhausting, this beautiful weekend left us all mentally restored and feeling good. Hope to see ya next year, Lone Tree!

Hello, there! My name is Nikki Jones and this is a place for me to write about my travels, my urban homesteading adventures, and whatever else my little heart desires at a given moment. Like many personal-blog bloggers, there are times I write daily and long streteches I'm not inspired to write at all. And that's ok! At any rate, I'm glad you're here.
