There is something totally unreal about telling people I'm writing my thesis right now. And yet, the stress and anxiety are very real! The thesis for my program is a 20 page document on the business model that I have spent a year developing, along with a presentation to a panel of entrepreneurs, investors, and university program directors.
I was honored to hear yesterday that I have been chosen by my course instructors for the Advanced Achievement award in my graduating class. It is a pleasant reminder that so much of the work is already done, and that I'm on the right track. But, I also feel an added pressure to finish strong and make them proud.
What gets me through the writing process are lots of tiny rewards, in the form of minutes allowed on Pinterest. I have a carefully curated list of people and boards that I follow, so it doesn't take long to see a few awesome things I can channel into inspiration, and bring back to my writing.
When the drudgery is too much, here's what makes me feel all excited again:
This vignette from Homestead Seattle. My MIL recently purchased a beautiful little marble table for me from an estate.
I'm dreaming of someday having a place to put it!
I've had a craving for fruit and herb infused beverages. This Apple Cider Pomegranate Mocktail from Merry Thought looks like a good place to start.
I tried acroyoga for the first time this month. I was blessed with a capable and creative partner, and it was awesome beyond what I could have ever imagined it would be. This image, from Slow Beauty, has so much power and movement. Inspiration for days!
My love of cooking has left me at the moment. So, instead I will just look at pretty pictures of food, like this heirloom tomato pizza margherita, from Slim Palate. (I still have TONS of tomatoes in my garden. Not sure what is going to happen with those, but it's pretty cool!)
A couple of weeks ago, I got a lead on an Airstream that I could have afforded. I never heard back, which is probably a blessing in disguise. I have other restoration and organization projects I should conquer before taking on such a big commitment. But, I have a feeling next summer could be the one. I will drool over this image from Glamper - An Aistream Diary until then.

Hello, there! My name is Nikki Jones and this is a place for me to write about my travels, my urban homesteading adventures, and whatever else my little heart desires at a given moment. Like many personal-blog bloggers, there are times I write daily and long streteches I'm not inspired to write at all. And that's ok! At any rate, I'm glad you're here.
