Most days last week my schedule went something like this:
Wake up early to take on the scary amount of tomatoes in my pantry -> Marketing day job -> Waitressing evening job -> Homework -> Catch up on side project tasks -> Try to fit in some reading, but find it impossible to keep my eyes open
And that is how many more days will be over the next two months until I finish grad school and a couple of other commitments expire. I'm young and passionate and prone to overextending myself in pursuit of experiencing everything. With that much going on, there are bound to be times I feel overwhelmed and over it all. When that happens, THIS ^ is what brings me back to life.
Because, when you are drinking beers by a creek, with great music and friends, and the love of your life sitting next to you, there is NOTHING that can compete with that for mental space. It all just disappears.
So, what I mean to say is that Shoefest was the same blissful, awesome time it has been the last couple of years. And I'm ready to do it all over again next weekend when we head to Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival. These travels are getting me by until I can justify more of that fun stuff on the regular.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day!
Hello, there! My name is Nikki Jones and this is a place for me to write about my travels, my urban homesteading adventures, and whatever else my little heart desires at a given moment. Like many personal-blog bloggers, there are times I write daily and long streteches I'm not inspired to write at all. And that's ok! At any rate, I'm glad you're here.
