Looking back on 2013, I would say it was about starting my entrepreneurial journey (somewhere, anywhere!) and just surviving. By November, there was a flurry of new and different entrepreneurial ideas running through my head, but all through December I was feeling very quiet and reflective about them, so fortunately I stumbled upon Fresh Start, a workbook by Amber McCue. By forcing myself to write down the people, projects, and events that made up my year, I found a sense of closure and pride in what I accomplished in 2013, and a vision for 2014 that is truly connected to who I am.
I also experienced a shift in my priorities over the last few months. I sometimes let my ambition suck me into a scarcity mindset, but I am ready to break out and thrive this year! I want to: breathe more life into my home, challenge myself physically, connect with nature (places and people alike), and share my gifts of knowledge with those that need it.
What I think that looks like in list form:
And more specific to my career:
Question marks indicate things that I might like to do, but can't fully commit to (and which won't make or break my year). It will all depend what is making me happy. I do know how quickly a year can go by if you don't get clear about what you want, so I made an effort to think the whole year through. To a wild and wonderful 2014!
Hello, there! My name is Nikki Jones and this is a place for me to write about my travels, my urban homesteading adventures, and whatever else my little heart desires at a given moment. Like many personal-blog bloggers, there are times I write daily and long streteches I'm not inspired to write at all. And that's ok! At any rate, I'm glad you're here.
